Frequently asked questions.
Do I need a script from a doctor?
How long does each session last? How many sessions will I need?
While a script can be helpful, no, you do not need a script in order to be evaluated and initiate physical therapy services in the state of New Jersey thanks to laws passed supporting direct access in Physical Therapy
One of the best aspects of mobile physical therapy is that it is entirely catered to your needs. Under Medicare, there is no limit to how many visits you can be seen for as long as continued physical therapy is medically necessary.
Session duration ranges anywhere from 20 minutes to 1 hour depending on the needs of each individual patient and their specifically tailored therapy plan.
What are my expectations as a patient during a session?
While we strive to provide the easiest, most accessible therapy, there are also things we expect out of our patients including:
Scheduling flexibility - we always try our hardest to accommodate scheduling preferences, however we can only be in one place at a time, and cover a large area, so flexibility is expected with timing of visits
Safe environment - we are perfectly comfortable working in homes at a variety of cleanliness levels. However, the environment must be safe including: no smoking during the visits, free of mold, no visible firearms or illicit substances, and safe, accessible entries and exits to the home. Issues in this area will be discussed privately on an individual basis.
Preparation - Physical therapy is all about movement! When we arrive at your home, we expect you to be dressed, awake, and ready to move.
Can my family be present during the visit?
Absolutely, we love and encourage family involvement during sessions!
What is your pet policy?
While we love your pets and love to visit with them, the visiting clinician reserves the right to ask patients and families to put away any pets that the clinician feels are obstructing your care. This is at the discretion of the individual practitioner in your home.
Is there a cancellation policy?
Yes, this will be reviewed on the first visit. Due to the nature of mobile therapy, cancellations within 24 hours are very harmful to our business and in these instances, a $50 cancellation fee will be assessed. This will be handled with patients on a case-by-case basis.
